Erect, branched winter annual with densely hairy leaves and stems. Leaves with three narrowly oblong leaflets. Leaf margins smooth with minute teeth-like projections at the tip. Flowers small, pale pink to pale purple, in grayish soft-silky cylinder-shaped heads resembling rabbit's foot. Reproduces by seed. Found throughout the southeastern United States to central peninsula of Florida, west to Louisiana and north to Missouri. Also found in Ontario, Quebec, Australia, and Hawaii. Native to Eurasia and northern Africa.
