Globe Sedge

Scientific Name - Cyperus globulosus Aubl.
Family - Cyperaceae


Perennial with densely tufted stems. Leaf blades flat, smooth, dense, bright green. Seedhead branches at top of stem. Seeds in loose globe-like clusters. Reproduces by seed. Occurs commonly in turf and most other moist to dry sandy habitats. Found from Virginia south into Florida and west to Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Also occurs in the West Indies, Central and South America, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and China.
